Manpuku, a Japanese restaurant offering interactive yakiniku meals, is set to open in Lower Greenville this month.
It will be the first Texas location for the Southern California-based chain, which was founded in Tokyo 70 years ago as Manpuku Japanese Yakiniku Grill.
Diners can order a la carte dishes or an Omakase-style meal for two or four people, which includes meats, salads and mild dishes for $40 to $100 per person, depending on the protein selection. Artisanal sauces such as soy, miso and sesame oil are served with all dishes, which are cooked at the table on small grills.
Manpuku offers three signature dishes: negi shio yakiniku, which was created during the first Manpuku in Tokyo and features slices of beef topped with garlic, sesame oil, green onions, sesame seeds and seasoning; yakiniku-style sukiyaki, rice wrapped in Kobe beef and garnished with egg yolk; and yaki-shabu, vegetables wrapped in Kobe beef and finished with oroshi ponzu sauce.
Manpuku is located at 2023 Greenville Ave near Trader Joe’s. It offers seating inside and on the patio and can accommodate around 100 guests.
Reservations are recommended and can be made on Open Table from June 29. Anyone who dines at the restaurant from June 29 through July 5 will receive a $20 gift card that can be used on a future visit.
